Time and Place | About 10:15 on my couch. I’m getting a later start on blogging today because I spent the morning reading. Perfect.
Eating and Drinking | I am in love with having a local Mexican restaurant. Thursday night was chimichangas and margaritas with two girlfriends. Amazing.
Reading | I finished three books this week, The Unspeakable by Meghan Daum (essays), The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion (fiction) and, this morning, Leaving Orbit by Margaret Lazarus Dean (memoir-ish, May 19 from Graywolf Press). I loved all of them, in very different ways. I hope I can get some review writing mojo going so I can share some thoughts on them.
Watching | This Cracked video — If the Internet Was a High School — is my favorite thing. I love Twitter, CNN and the AP. Bonus if you can spot Mr. Darcy from The Lizzie Bennett Diaries.
Listening | My sister is very excited about Greg Holden’s new album, Chase the Sun, so I’ve got that queued up on Spotify.
Blogging | This week I did a bookshelf tour of my living room and some nonfiction to read if you loved The Martian by Andy Weir.
Promoting | Over at Book Riot, I did a round up of some of my favorite bookish Sesame Street parodies. Putting this post together was super fun.
Hating | Mansplaining. I had a lot of that this week. It’s so lame.
Loving | The weather this week/weekend was beautiful. We had friends over Friday night and spent a couple of hours sitting in the backyard drinking beer before it got too chilly to be outside. On Saturday, I got to read outside! No pictures of either, unfortunately, just one of our yard this morning after (badly needed) rain last night. I’m so excited for the possibilities of this summer.
Planning | My sister and I are working on details for the Greece portion of our trip this fall. And also trying to figure out how many of London’s literary bars we can visit.
Anticipating | Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon is this Saturday!! Putting together my Readathon book stack is an ongoing process — I usually spend a couple of weeks adding and removing books from the pile. The only books from the stack up top that I know will make it to Saturday are Euphoria by Lily King and Zone One by Colson Whitehead. I’m so excited.
Happy Sunday, everyone! What are you reading today?
