Thanks to poll suggestions, I started and finished High Fidelity by Nick Hornby earlier this week — I really liked it! The review is probably going to have to wait a little bit though, I lent the book to a friend yesterday and want to pull some quotes for my review.
The next book on my list is Lipstick Jihad by Azadeh Moaveni, which I started while riding the bus to and from the mall yesterday. Of all the memoirs I’ve read about Iran, so far this one does the best job of explaining the history of the Iranian Revolution. The beginning is a little bit slow, but I’m optimistic it will start to pick up after Moaveni moves to Iran.
Anyway, short Sunday Salon today — I have a lot of Blog Improvement Project stuff and a lot of homework to finish today, so I need to get back to it.
Happy Sunday!

I’ve not read Lipstick Jihad…not even heard of it, actually. Will have to check this out.
I loved High Fidelity, and it’s actually a great movie as well!
Lipstick Jihad sounds like a must read!
My TSS post is up!
Debbie: I found Lipstick Jihad on a used books table at our school bookstore. I’d never heard of it either, but because I love memoirs and books about Iran, I thought it would be a good one to pick up.
priscilla: Yes, my roommates and I used to watch the movie a lot — that’s one of the reasons I decided to pick up the book.
gautami tripathy: I hope so, I am enjoying the book so far.
