I just remembered that today is Sunday and that I need to write a Sunday Salon post! Today has been, perhaps, my most unproductive Sunday since I started school. Of course that would happen on the Sunday before my last week of classes! It’s not totally my fault — I slept terribly last night because I’ve been sick, so I spent most of the afternoon taking a nap. But, that means I have to sit myself down tonight and really get some stuff done.
Unlike many of my college colleagues, my end of the semester shouldn’t be too terrible. I have two papers to write, one news article to finish, and one other news article to revise. No final tests, which is awesome. Just papers, sweet.
I did watch two new movies this weekend — Nobel Son and Synechdoche, New York, a new movie written and directed by Charlie Kaufman. Nobel Son, a sort of goofy caper movie, wasn’t that great, although Alan Rickman’s character was fantastic. Synechdoche, New York, was one of the most weird and confusing movies I’ve seen in a long time, but I really enjoyed watching it, if that makes any sense. I was smiling and amused through the whole movie, even if I felt like I had no idea what the message of the movie was.
Well, that’s all for now. I hope everyone else had a good Sunday.

I hope you feel better soon.
bermudaonion: Thanks, me too 🙂
Blech, being sick is no fun. Hopefully it’ll clear up for the end of your semester. I’ve still got one week of classes (including one lecture that I’m giving on Thursday that I haven’t even started writing yet) and then finals. Fun fun.
I hope everything goes well for you. I have ten days left in the semester for me and I cannot wait! I hope you feel better soon!
Happy End to the Semester! May you get everything done and done to your satisfaction.
and of course, a Charlie Kaufman movie would be wild. I love his movies!
Fyrefly: Last week of classes is this week, and finals are next week. This is the time I wonder why the heck I decided to go back to grad school anyway.
Vasilly: Thanks, I hope so too!
bkclubcare: You know, despite not really understanding this movie at all, I really liked it. If you like Kaufman, I’m sure you’ll like this movie too.
I’ve been meaning to see Synechdoche, NY. I heard it compared to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Kim L: Yeah, I think it’s an accurate comparison. The movie was great, even if I’m still struggling to understand it. I’ve been having an ongoing discussion about what the movie meant with the guy that went with me, we still haven’t figured it out exactly 🙂
