You’ll have to excuse me while I do a teeny bit of (mostly) shameless promotion. My dear friend Amanda from my undergrad university was recently hired as an Editor for a new video gaming website, Green Pixels. The site launched last week week, and I am so impressed with it. It looks to be a great resources for casual gamers, people who really just love to play games.
I got to look around the site a little bit pre-launch earlier and enjoyed a lot of the content that is posted already. There is a good article about great games to play on your commute, and Amanda has an articulate and funny blog post about the portrayal of a certain female character in the Guitar Hero series. I recommend that too, and not just because I think Amanda is awesome.
So, take a look at Green Pixels, see what they are about, and keep heading back if it seems like something interesting to you.
And, as a reward for reading through a self-indulgent post, here’s a book-related comic from xkcd: A Webcomic of Romance, Sarcasm, Math, and Language.

I’m going to pass this on to my son.
