Just last week I came across the blog Black Cover, a site “dedicated to the search for the perfect little black notebook.” This is a site after my own heart, as I frequently go on quests to find the perfect version of anything, including office supplies. It took me three years and countless planners to find my perfect appointment book (the 70957 by At-A-Glance). I spent years trying to find the perfect pen, and now refuse to write with anything other than the fine point Pilot Easy Touch.
And in the week I found Black Cover (via bookeywookey) they decided to have a contest — how novel! Head over to their contest site for a chance to win a set of Picadilly notebooks. Who doesn’t love free office supplies?

I checked it out and Black Cover is an interesting site.
I’ve gone digital for all that kind of thing…
bermudaonion: I think it’s such a funny site — really dorky, but that’s why I like it.
Rebecca: I wish I could be all digital, but I just never got into putting appointments into my phone or things like that. I like having a physical planner to carry around, but I suppose I’ll eventually have to give that up.
What a wonderful site. Who can’t like a site devoted to notebooks, a writer’s essential tool?
Ah, and it’s so welcome to find another office supply lover.
theexile: I know, I love notebooks! I have a few that I keep as scrapbooks with ticket stubs, cards, fortunes, and things that make me smile. I distinctly remember an author speaking to my 7th grade English class about how he keeps a notebook with everything in it — I think he even had a candy wrapper because it reminded him of something important to write later. Anyway, ever since then I’ve kept notebooks of quotes and things because someday I hope maybe they will help me write too.
You could be my new best friend. My favorite pen is a fountain pen I got through Levenger several years ago. I bought it on sale and loved it so much I bought another. I should’ve bought more; my first one’s been missing for six months. Are you a Post-It freak, too? I bought my now-husband a Moleskine for Christmas a few years ago. He loves it! Soon he’ll need a new one, ’cause that one’s nearly full. Maybe I’ll have to look into a Picadilly for his next one.
Jena: Yes, I love Post-It notes. I have a ton of them sitting on my desk right now. I don’t need more notebooks, but I would love to win the free ones 🙂
