Hour 1, 8:00 a.m. UPDATE — I just did my cheerleading for an hour and only managed to make it to 40 of the blogs (and that was only leaving comments on blogs that had a Read-a-Thon post at the top of their page). It’s going to take me awhile to get through all of them! I think I’ll just put in more time tonight or this afternoon if I can. Yipes! Good luck everyone!
INTRO — The 24 Hour Read-a-Thon is an event hosted by Dewey at The Hidden Side of a Leaf. Once in October and once in April, people sign up to do a book reading marathon — 24 hours! You can read the Read-a-Thon FAQ or the info page about the October 2008 Read-a-Thon (this is where the Mr. Linky with participants is located and what I’m working from). Aerin’s posted a great participants list to keep everyone organized as well.
I’m not reading since I have a midterm I need to work on this weekend, and I am going to a friend’s house today to make pie! Instead, I’m participating as a cheerleader. That means I’ll be spending awhile early this morning (right when things are starting) surfing around to blogs and leaving comments before I have to go work. I’m going to try to do some cheerleading later too, but we’ll see.
So, that’s what I’ll be doing for quite a while this morning. I’m excited, go readers!

I’m not participating either. I love college football almost as much as I love reading and I can’t do both today.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. The cartoon was just way too funny. Thanks for the laugh! Namaste.
Cheering is tough, I know. (THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY MY BLOG!) It’s so hard to visit everyone and then it’s easy to get distracted by actually reading the posts and being a good visitor and … oh, I know, I know. Have fun with your midterms and you know, I have big respect for anyone who spends time pie-makin’.
Ooh, what kind of pie? Yum.
Can’t wait for your mini-challenge to start!
Thanks so much for dropping by my blog, you were really fast off the mark! Good luck with the midterm, and hope you get a chance to read a bit too 🙂

bermudaonion: What college football teams do you cheer for? The Badgers got swamped again yesterday — worst record in the Big Ten is pretty depressing…
Cymraeg Ddewines: Good, I liked the comic too!
bkclubcare: Yes, good blogs are really distracting, but I think that’s the point!
wordlily: Apple, and some sort of chocolate custard — very yum!
Alessandra — I think I got mixed up with another Kim 🙂
Sarah Dillon — You’re welcome! I didn’t get to read much, but I will after I get some work done today, I hope 🙂
