Just a little bit though. I finally made the leap and bought my own domain name. Sophisticated Dorkiness can now be found at sophisticateddorkiness.com!
All the old links should still forward to the new domain name, but from now on please link to the new address. And just to be sure, if you can go into your RSS reader and change the address to sophisticateddorkiness.com/feed then if I do go to self-host I think the feed will be ok.
The next big step in my personal blog improvement is self-hosting and moving from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, but I’m going to tackle that animal another day 🙂

Christine: Yes, and quite the beast it is. I feel like having a better domain name makes the blog more legit, which is a little silly but oh well.

Yay! I’ve updated my Google Reader. I’ll tell you, I made the move to self-hosted (wordpress.com to wordpress.org) this fall. The sooner the better, missing links and keeping everyone updated (and not losing them!) is a lot to catch up on. Well, it was for me, anyway; you clearly have a better handle on this tech stuff than I do!
Jackie: I’m not sure yet how domain name works with search engines. I think that’s something I’ll be figuring out as I go through the process of upgrading and moving around.

softdrink: One of the reasons I wanted my own domain was because I’m putting the blog on my resume and having it’s own domain looks cooler than the entire wordpress address.
Dawn: I might have to pick your brain a little bit soon! I really want to self-host, but I keep getting intimidated by the whole idea of doing it myself. I keep doing web searches for tutorials or something on how to do it, but none of the resources I can find make me feel any more confident 🙂
